KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Campus Safety Officer, you will undertake various security duties aimed at safeguarding students, staff, property, and equipment across campus grounds. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting regular patrols of the campus to maintain safety and security.
  • Monitoring compliance with laws, regulations, and campus policies.
  • Responding to emergencies and suspicious activities, providing assistance as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports related to incidents.
  • Leading and mentoring student officers and temporary staff during shifts.
  • Building effective relationships within the campus community to enhance security measures.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Understanding of law enforcement principles and crime prevention strategies.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations with composure and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse population.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, candidates should have:
  • One year of experience in security or law enforcement, or equivalent experience in military or probation roles.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with additional college credits preferred.
  • A valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.
