POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District is dedicated to fostering a secure and supportive environment for its diverse student body. As a Campus Safety Officer I, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our campus community. Your responsibilities will include:

KEY FUNCTIONS:
1. Conducting regular patrols of the campus to ensure the safety of students, staff, and property.
2. Responding to alarms and emergency situations, assessing circumstances, and taking appropriate action.
3. Enforcing campus regulations and policies regarding safety and security.
4. Assisting individuals in need of help and providing guidance in various situations.
5. Maintaining accurate records of incidents and preparing necessary reports.
6. Collaborating with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A solid understanding of security protocols and crime prevention techniques.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse population.
- The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A minimum of one year of experience in security or law enforcement.
2. High school diploma or equivalent; additional college credits or relevant training preferred.
3. Valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
