Job Summary

Bethel Church of Redding is seeking a part-time Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our campuses, staff, and visitors. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism and reputation by complying with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as adhering to the vision and mission of Bethel Church.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the campus to ensure the safety and security of all individuals and property.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor surveillance equipment to detect and respond to any potential security threats.
  • Access Control: Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to ensure that they are secure and functioning properly.
  • Incident Response: Respond promptly and effectively to any medical issues or other incidents that may arise.
Requirements
  • Background Check: Pass a state and federal background check.
  • BSIS Licensing: Become licensed through California's Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) by passing training courses.
  • Driver's License: Must have an active license with the DMV and be willing to obtain a California Driver's License for the purpose of driving company vehicles.
  • Authorization to Work: Must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively respond to security threats and incidents.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to be on your feet for the duration of an eight-hour shift and pass a physical fitness test.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to function independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with computers and computer software, including the ability to document incidents and write professional reports.
