Position Overview

This role is available at various locations within the organization.

Supports the Consumer Banking Manager in daily branch operations. Ensures adherence to established guidelines and protocols.

Facilitates customer service delivery, encompassing all transactions processed in the teller area, account openings, providing information to clients, resolving banking inquiries, promoting banking products and services, and engaging in additional projects, tasks, and responsibilities.

Serves as a resource for operational and customer-related issues, exercising discretion and sound judgment. Aids in sales development initiatives, including staff training. Maintains relationships and activities in alignment with established bank policies, procedures, and systems. Must possess knowledge and understanding of compliance and fraud prevention measures to safeguard both customers and the institution.

Provides entry-level supervision of the team, assisting with transactions, risk assessments, coaching, motivating, and exemplifying excellence in sales, service, and operations.

Delivers exceptional service to fulfill customer needs and expectations. Works towards achieving goals by promoting and cross-selling a variety of financial products and services. Contributes to a collaborative team environment by achieving bank and branch objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SALES:
Assists customers and employees, motivates staff, and strives to meet branch and individual sales targets. Opens and closes the branch as required.

TELLER FUNCTIONS:

Processes deposits and payments, verifies amounts, and checks endorsements for authenticity and fraud risk.

Cashes checks and handles withdrawals, ensuring verification of signatures and customer balances. Accurately counts, checks, and reconciles coins, currency, and transactions.

CUSTOMER SERVICE FUNCTIONS:
Manages account openings and closures, resolves customer issues, cross-sells, and addresses inquiries regarding financial products and services. Engages in daily operations, including customer service and teller responsibilities on a regular rotation. Ensures compliance with operating procedures. Consistently demonstrates proficiency in delivering exceptional service to customers and colleagues. Resolves challenging situations with tact and diplomacy. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of bank products and services and ensures that other branch personnel are informed.

Actively seeks sales opportunities, cross-selling bank products and services to both new and existing customers, ensuring that recommended solutions align with customer needs.

Takes a proactive approach to understanding the banking industry and leadership. Collaborates with the Manager to establish goals and works diligently to achieve them. Refers customers to other business departments for both traditional and non-traditional products and services. Participates in sales initiatives to attract new customers.

Organizes daily work plans to manage customer flow and banking processing requirements, ensuring customer service excellence and compliance with bank record-keeping standards.

Responsible for adhering to branch control and cash handling protocols. Accountable for cross-selling bank products and services to achieve individual and branch objectives. The work environment may be fast-paced, necessitating a professional demeanor. Understands the role in emergency situations and is familiar with proper post-incident procedures.

Ensures compliance with all applicable banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and information security protocols.

Accountable for additional tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Reports to the Branch Manager and indirectly to the Assistant Manager. Work is reviewed by the Branch Manager and Assistant Manager. Tellers seek guidance from the Financial Associate for questions and/or issues when management is unavailable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Comprehensive understanding of all teller and new account functions, banking regulations, policies, and products.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong customer relations abilities. Must engage with employees and customers in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner. Good judgment and the capacity to handle confidential information while working efficiently to analyze information and make informed decisions. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities, duties, and projects. Successful completion of in-house training programs. Proficient in computer skills (email, printer, copy, Microsoft Office), Image Scanner, Cash Counting Machine, Cash Dispensing Machine, Coin Counter.
