Food Service Worker II Position

This is a manual and semi-skilled position in the performance of advanced food service duties in dining hall or cash operations kitchens. The successful candidate will work under limited supervision and be responsible for instructing subordinate food service workers in dining hall techniques and methods, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring patrons are served in a courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise subordinate food service workers in serving foods, cleaning facilities, and preparing serving line meals.
- Assist cooks and other kitchen personnel in tasks such as cleaning and paring vegetables, washing dishes, serving from a serving line, and cleaning tables and sweeping floors.
- Responsible for neatness and cleanliness in preparing, handling, and serving food, as well as serving patrons in a pleasant and courteous manner.
- Knowledge of care and use of food service equipment, including meat slicer, mixing machine, and steam cookers.
Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include basic math skills, knowledge of hazards to health in food preparation and service, and knowledge of safe food handling practices.
Work EnvironmentThis position offers a 40 hour work week, with hours and schedule may vary and include evenings and weekends. The work environment is noisy, hot/cold, and may involve chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors.
