Position Overview:

The University of Georgia is on the lookout for exceptional candidates to take on the role of a community engagement facilitator, referred to as an Archway Professional. This position is integral to the Public Service & Outreach Faculty, serving as the primary public service representative in a rural Georgia community.

Role Responsibilities:

The Archway Professional dedicates significant time to the designated Archway county and region, with occasional travel required for collaboration with other Archway Partnership communities. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless access to University of Georgia resources and fostering effective community engagement.

Key Duties:
  1. Organize and lead meetings for the local Executive Committee and various issue-focused work groups.
  2. Coordinate experiential learning opportunities for students and facilitate faculty research through community initiatives.
  3. Build and maintain dynamic relationships with community stakeholders to promote consensus, capacity building, and sustainability.
  4. Employ decision-making and problem-solving skills to identify resources and assist community groups in achieving their objectives.
  5. Familiarize with a broad spectrum of resources available at UGA and other institutions, state agencies, and non-profit organizations.
  6. Assist the community and Archway Partnership Operations Coordinators in identifying and prioritizing community needs.
  7. Exemplify best practices in partnership, collaboration, and community engagement.
  8. Document activities and assess program impact through various evaluation methods.
  9. Position local partnerships and projects for marketing and promotional opportunities.
  10. Engage in regional partnerships to enhance community connectivity to additional resources.
Qualifications:

A minimum of a Master's degree in fields such as public administration, urban/regional planning, public policy, public health, higher education, community development, business, or non-profit management is required.

Preferred Experience:
  1. Five years of experience in community development, economic development, public administration, or related fields.
  2. Experience in group facilitation, consensus building, and public engagement.
  3. Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
Skills and Competencies:
  1. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  2. Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
  4. Proficient in data analytics and computer skills, including MS Office.
  5. Willingness to travel as necessary.
  6. Ability to work independently while being part of a cohesive team.
