Community Engagement Facilitator

The University of Georgia is on the lookout for exceptional candidates to fill the role of a community engagement facilitator, also referred to as an Archway Professional. This position is integral to the Public Service & Outreach Faculty and will act as the primary public service representative in a rural Georgia community.
Key Responsibilities:The Archway Professional dedicates a significant portion of their time to the designated Archway county and surrounding region, with occasional travel required to various communities. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the Archway Partnership fosters effective community engagement and outreach, delivering valuable experiences for local stakeholders, student learning opportunities, and faculty research.
Essential Duties:- Facilitate and organize meetings for the local Executive Committee and various working groups.
- Coordinate experiential learning opportunities for students and collaborative research initiatives with faculty.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders to enhance consensus, capacity building, and sustainability.
- Employ decision-making and problem-solving skills to identify resources and assist community groups in achieving their objectives.
- Familiarize with a broad spectrum of resources available at the University of Georgia and other institutions.
- Assist in articulating and prioritizing community needs alongside the Archway Partnership Operations Coordinators.
- Exemplify best practices in partnership, collaboration, and community engagement.
- Document activities and assess program impact through various evaluation methods.
- Position local initiatives for marketing and promotional opportunities.
- Engage in regional partnerships to enhance community access to additional resources.
A minimum of a Master's degree in relevant fields such as public administration, urban planning, public policy, or community development is required. Candidates should possess substantial experience in community development, public administration, or related areas, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills:Proficiency in data analytics and computer applications, particularly MS Office, is essential. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team is crucial for success in this role.
Travel Requirements:This position necessitates travel across Georgia during various times, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
