Position Overview:

The University of Georgia is on the lookout for adept candidates to fulfill the role of a community engagement facilitator, recognized as an Archway Professional. This position is part of the Public Service & Outreach Faculty, serving as the primary public service representative in a rural Georgia locality.

Role Summary:

The Archway Professional dedicates a significant portion of their time to the designated Archway county and region, with necessary travel to other communities as required. The Archway Partnership emphasizes seamless access to the University of Georgia and effective distribution of its resources back to the community. In this capacity, the Archway Professional acts as the community's liaison, embodying the University’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate and organize local Executive Committee meetings and various issue-focused workgroups.
  2. Coordinate experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty research through community initiatives.
  3. Build and nurture relationships with community stakeholders to promote consensus, capacity building, and sustainability.
  4. Employ decision-making and problem-solving skills to identify resources and assist community groups in achieving their goals.
  5. Familiarize with a diverse array of resources available at UGA and other institutions.
  6. Assist the community and Archway Partnership Operations Coordinators in articulating and prioritizing community needs.
  7. Exhibit best practices in partnership, collaboration, and community engagement.
  8. Document activities and assess program impact through various evaluation methods.
  9. Position local initiatives for marketing and promotional opportunities.
  10. Engage in regional partnerships to enhance community access to additional resources.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of a Master's degree in relevant fields such as public administration, urban planning, public policy, or related disciplines. Additionally, candidates with five years of experience in community development, public administration, or related areas are preferred.

Skills and Competencies:
  1. Strong organizational abilities with a knack for managing multiple priorities.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  3. Proficient in data analytics and computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  4. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cohesive team.
Additional Information:

This position requires travel across Georgia, including evenings and weekends as necessary. The Archway Professional is pivotal in ensuring that the Archway Partnership's community engagement and outreach efforts yield meaningful experiences for local stakeholders and contribute to faculty scholarship.
