Job Title: Supervisor Technical Pathology

About the Role

The Supervisor Technical Pathology will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and effective supervision of assigned areas within Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology. This includes creating an optimal environment for all phases of laboratory operations, including efficient sample processing, accurate and timely performance of laboratory testing, monitoring inventory, maintaining adequate supplies, and optimizing resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective operation of assigned areas.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Provide training and orientation to staff, students, and residents as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of laboratory testing and results.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of laboratory services.
Requirements
  • Registered Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent registration.
  • Bachelor of Science or Associate of Science Degree in related field.
  • Five years of laboratory bench experience as a Laboratory Technologist with a minimum of three years of experience in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Cytology, Blood Bank, Histology, or other related areas.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Problem solving and analytical troubleshooting skills.
