Position Overview:
As a Cardiac Imaging Specialist, you will conduct diagnostic evaluations to analyze cardiac structures and hemodynamics, adhering to established protocols under the guidance of physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and calibrate all necessary equipment and skillfully maneuver transducers to execute examinations.
  • Implement safety protocols and conduct quality control measures.
  • Perform both routine and advanced studies, assisting physicians in various imaging procedures.
  • Identify significant anatomical structures, artifacts, and potential pathologies while understanding equipment limitations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Sonography or Vascular Technology, or completion of a cardiac ultrasound program (minimum of 18 months).

Certifications:
New hires are required to obtain the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential from Cardiac Credentialing International within one year of employment. Additionally, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.

Work Experience:
Demonstrated expertise in m-mode, 2D and Doppler calculations, and cardiac hemodynamics is essential. Familiarity with computer systems and the ability to learn relevant software is required. Candidates should be graduates of a cardiac ultrasound program (minimum of 18 months) or possess two years of full-time echocardiography experience.

Physical Requirements:
This role necessitates prolonged periods of standing and walking, with the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Candidates must be capable of assisting in patient transport, including maneuvering beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs, as well as operating equipment with motor coordination.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Adherence to standard precautions using personal protective equipment is required.
