Job Summary

This is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the development and execution of business plans and projects within the facilities management department at Walmart. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, and ensuring that business needs are being met through the evaluation of ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Business Plans
    • Identify customer and operational needs
    • Develop and communicate business plans and priorities
    • Remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance
    • Provide resources
    • Identify performance standards
    • Measure progress and adjust performance accordingly
    • Develop contingency plans
    • Demonstrate adaptability and support continuous learning
  • Evaluate and Improve Business Operations
    • Evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives
    • Consult with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders
    • Solicit, evaluate, and apply suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Maintain Relationships and Support Internal Stakeholders
    • Identify improvement opportunities
    • Recommend enhancing the performance of assets
    • Improve facility programs efficiency, performance, and facilitate corrective action plans
  • Support Financial Planning
    • Analyze historical data and develop future budget projections
    • Establish maintenance/repair spend plans to achieve annual operating performance objectives for the business
    • Establish capital expenditure spend plans to achieve annual capital expenditure objectives for the business
    • Develop and manage maintenance and repair financial tools to support business making decisions for operating expense
    • Develop and manage capital financial tools to make total cost of ownership decisions regarding repair or end of life replacements
    • Collaborate with leaders to communicate budgets and forecasts
  • Support Vendor and Customer Service Needs
    • Establish contracts with set service-level agreements
    • Maintain data files on repairs and modifications
    • Communicate corporate and industry standards to vendors
    • Ensure compliance to standards
    • Evaluate KPI metrics for vendor performance
  • Assist in Managing the Department Budget
    • Gather and analyze trending data
    • Validate spend related to materials and labor
    • Review facility-related invoicing by set procedure
    • Develop reports
    • Approve spending proposals at set spending limit
    • Manage warranty reimbursement
    • Assist internal teams with landlord compliance and lease agreements
    • Assist the execution of bid events and awards
  • Provide Expertise and Guidance
    • Provide expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices
    • Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs
    • Build commitment for perspectives and rationales
  • Implement Business Solutions
    • Build relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
    • Identify business needs
    • Determine and carry out necessary processes and practices
    • Monitor progress and results
    • Recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities
    • Adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities
  • Ensure Compliance and Support Company Mission

    • Provide direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
  • 4 years' experience in facilities management, construction management, engineering, or related area
