Job Overview

Position Summary

The hourly compensation is approximately $30.00, depending on experience and skills.

The Event Technical Specialist plays a crucial role in the setup and management of mid-level production events within a hospitality setting, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. This role reports to either an Associate Director or Director of Project Management.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management

• Guarantee a seamless event by accurately setting up, operating, and dismantling advanced audiovisual equipment as specified in the technical requirements.

• Quickly troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise.

• Adhere to all company security and safety protocols.

• Safeguard equipment from theft and damage during usage.

Client Relations

• Deliver outstanding service, aiming to surpass the expectations of both internal and external clients.

• Foster positive relationships with clients through effective communication.

• Collaborate with the internal team to devise event solutions before and during the event, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction.

• Understand and nurture the relationship between the hotel and the client.

Training and Development

• Cultivate an environment that promotes the growth of technical and leadership skills among team members.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to technical, sales, and operations staff to enhance their technical abilities.

• Establish oneself as a subject matter expert in the relevant field.

• Stay updated with the latest technology and industry trends.

Event Oversight

• Engage in advanced tasks related to event operations.

• Supervise and guide other technicians throughout the event.

Equipment Care

• Assist the team in ensuring proper security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.

• Conduct inventory assessments and forecast equipment requirements.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in event technology, particularly in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video, is required.

• 3-4 years of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.

• Internal candidates must fulfill all training prerequisites to qualify for this position.

• Technical certifications in A/P/V/L are necessary, with experience verified by a Director of Project Management or higher.

• New team members must complete all training requirements within 60 days of hire.

• Must possess the ability to interact professionally with a diverse workforce and senior management.

• Strong experience in client and coworker interactions is essential.

• A valid driver's license is required for roles involving company vehicles.

• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a hotel or convention center environment, with exposure to varying temperatures and potential dust. The work conditions may range from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and may work at various hotel locations during irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Team members must meet specific physical criteria to perform essential job functions effectively. This includes lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling weights as outlined in the job specifications.
