The Event Technical Specialist plays a crucial role in the seamless execution of mid-level production events within a hospitality setting, prioritizing client satisfaction. This role reports to the Associate Director or Director of Project Management.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management

  • Guarantees successful event delivery through precise setup, operation, and dismantling of advanced audiovisual equipment.
  • Diagnoses and resolves technical issues promptly as they occur.
  • Adheres to all company security and safety protocols.
  • Protects equipment from theft and damage during use.

Client Relations

  • Delivers exceptional service, aiming to surpass the expectations of both internal and external clients.
  • Maintains positive interactions with clients through effective communication.
  • Collaborates with the internal team to devise event solutions before and during events to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Understands and nurtures the relationship between the hotel and clients.

Training and Development

  • Fosters an environment conducive to the growth of technical and leadership skills among team members.
  • Mentors and coaches technical, sales, and operations staff to enhance their technical capabilities.

Event Oversight

  • Engages in advanced tasks related to event operations.
  • Supervises and guides other technicians during events.

Equipment Care

  • Assists in the security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conducts inventory assessments and forecasts equipment requirements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event technology, specializing in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video.
  • 3-4 years of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
  • Internal candidates must meet all training prerequisites to qualify for this position.
  • Technical certifications in A/P/V/L are required, with experience validated by a Director of Project Management or higher.
  • New team members must complete all training requirements within 60 days of hire.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse workforce and senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for roles involving company vehicles.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
