Category Manager

We are seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our team at Schneider Electric. As a Category Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the best Quality, Cost, and Delivery Conditions for machining suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Represent Schneider Electric as the primary point of contact for suppliers in your category.
- Ensure that your category meets business needs by conducting regular business reviews with suppliers and communicating performance expectations.
- Manage Request for Quotations and supplier selection in alignment with the commodity strategy.
- Lead business risk evaluations and develop strategies to mitigate risk, including financial risk, capacity constraints, and long lead times.
- Execute the supplier strategy by understanding multiple business unit needs and translating those needs into supply that meets Schneider's requirements.
- Identify and implement technical productivities, supplier changes, and lean initiatives while collaborating with internal teams.
- Lead a global approach to category ownership, including negotiation, cost optimization, and lean initiatives for allocated suppliers.
- Contribute to the purchasing database and tools updates by providing necessary information to commodity managers and supplier leaders.
- Serve as the first escalation point for supplier crisis management.
- Communicate supplier strategy internally.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience as a category manager or similar role.
- Solid knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles.
- Supplier relationship management.
- Strategic planning and global sourcing.
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
