Store Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the store, working closely with the management team to drive sales and customer satisfaction. This position may also be responsible for overseeing a specific category, such as books, buyback, or media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize profits and customer satisfaction by leading the assigned category team and ensuring the store operates in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
  • Operate the store as the Manager On-Duty in conjunction with the management team, ensuring seamless store operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, handling complaints in a professional and satisfactory manner.
  • Maintain category merchandising and cleanliness, ensuring operational efficiency and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Train and develop Associates and Leads within the category, facilitating cross-training for further development.
  • Facilitate effective communication to all store Associates through daily briefings and regular meetings.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on Associate performance and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • Previous experience in a supervisor role
  • Successful completion of all required background screenings
  • Computer and cash register skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone, and for repetitive motion activities
  • Ability to lift or team lift objects up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance
  • Ability to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, or crouch while performing daily activities
