About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fluids Valve Design Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you will play a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of cryogenic valves for our spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cryogenic valves for our spacecraft systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Lead small teams of engineers in the design, testing, and analysis of valves and fluid systems.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to identify and procure components, and work with support organizations to procure, fabricate, and install flight hardware.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to entry-level engineers, and perform technical peer reviews of products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in valve and mechanical/fluids component design.
  • Knowledge of propulsion and fluid system components, including valves, regulators, and pumps for cryogenics, propellants, and other fluids.
  • Experience designing parts in CREO and using design analysis tools such as ANSYS and Thermal Desktop.
  • Ability to define and support testing of designs, conduct data analysis, and iterate designs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Engineering degree.
  • Experience designing valves/mechanisms for fluids systems.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
