Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team at Hawaiian Linen Supply. As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting soiled linen and delivering clean linen products to hotel customers while ensuring loads are accurate and adhering to state and Federal Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Pre & Post Trip Inspection of truck
  • Assist dispatchers and weighmasters by positioning carts in appropriate area and covering cart with plastic
  • Load clean linen into trucks, checking to ensure accuracy of load against delivery ticket
  • Drive truck to specified customer locations and unload clean linen carts, interacting with hotel staff
  • Communicate customer concerns or complaints promptly to Production or Logistics Manager on duty
  • Complete trip sheet to reflect all stops, number of carts delivered, and number of carts retrieved
  • Report all mechanical issues, accidents and/or incidents involving drivers or company equipment
  • Promptly report any delays to supervisor/manager relating to pick-up or delivery of load, (breakdowns, weather or traffic)
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) a must
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Exceptional customer service is mandatory
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving a commercial truck
  • Able to follow maps or directions to meet destination in a safe and efficient manner
  • Able to understand and complete basic math
Work Environment

The working environment is typical of an industrial facility including noise and vibration. An employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Personal Protective Equipment will be required for certain tasks.

Benefits

The wage is no less than $16.00 per hour. Overtime pay starts at $24.00 per hour. A higher rate than $16.00 may be offered, the overtime rate will be calculated 1.5X the offered hourly rate. Our Company's pay period starts on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday. A single work week will be used to compute the wages due. Our payroll period is weekly, and workers are paid on the following Thursday after the end of the pay period. Rate increases and/or bonuses may be offered at the Company's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure.
