Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Van Driver to join our team at Purestar Group. As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for transporting soiled linen and delivering clean linen products to hotel customers, while ensuring the accuracy of loads and adhering to state and Federal Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the truck
  • Assist dispatchers and weighmasters by positioning carts in the appropriate area and covering the cart with plastic
  • Load clean linen into trucks, checking to ensure accuracy of load against delivery ticket
  • Drive the truck to specified customer locations and unload clean linen carts, interacting with hotel staff
  • Communicate customer concerns or complaints promptly to the Production or Logistics Manager on duty
  • Complete trip sheets to reflect all stops, number of carts delivered, and number of carts retrieved
  • Report all mechanical issues, accidents, and/or incidents involving drivers or company equipment
  • Promptly report any delays to the supervisor/manager relating to pick-up or delivery of load
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Exceptional customer service is mandatory
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving a commercial truck
  • Ability to follow maps or directions to meet destination in a safe and efficient manner
  • Able to understand and complete basic math
Work Environment

The work environment is typical of an industrial facility, including noise and vibration. An employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Personal Protective Equipment will be required for certain tasks.

Benefits

We offer a competitive wage of no less than $16.00 per hour, with overtime pay starting at $24.00 per hour. A higher rate than $16.00 may be offered, with the overtime rate calculated at 1.5X the offered hourly rate. Our payroll period is weekly, and workers are paid on the following Thursday after the end of the pay period.

Rate increases and/or bonuses may be offered at the Company's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure. The Company will make deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law. Workers may elect to participate in our benefits plans, such as medical, drug, vision, dental, FSA, and other voluntary insurance plans, in which a share in premium may be deducted.
