Job Overview

The Intake Specialist role at Workers Justice Project (WJP) is a critical position that requires exceptional organizational and communication skills. As a key member of the WJP team, you will be responsible for managing the flow of people and services at the Williamsburg Worker Center. Your primary goal will be to provide excellent support to our clients, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance and resources to address their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Support: Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing their inquiries, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Intake Process: Conduct initial screenings and intakes for clients seeking services, gathering essential information to ensure accurate referrals and follow-up.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Maintain a monthly calendar for the center, scheduling appointments, and coordinating events with staff and external partners.
  • Referral Services: Refer clients to appropriate WJP services or external providers, ensuring seamless transitions and effective support.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, staff, and community partners, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting mutual understanding.
Requirements
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish is required, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, along with 2+ years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a non-profit or social services setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications, as well as equipment operation such as printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and telephones.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong organizational and time management skills, dedication to working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
