Job Title: Healthcare Liaison Specialist

The Medicaid Managed Care Liaison is a vital role in ensuring the seamless coordination of healthcare services for foster care populations. This position requires expertise in navigating complex systems, including the child welfare system, foster care healthcare requirements, and Medicaid Managed Care policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with MCO Foster Care Liaisons to ensure timely access to healthcare services
  • Inform and coordinate PCP changes to guarantee continuity of care
  • Assist with plan enrollment, disenrollment, and transitions to minimize disruptions
  • Issue Welcome letters and secure plan ID cards for effective dates
  • Facilitate single case agreements for out-of-network placements
  • Interact with clinical and billing staff to resolve issues efficiently
  • Refer children for needed services and assist in provider selection
  • Maintain eligibility for public or private health insurance

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a medical or social services office environment
  • Excellent typing skills and proficiency in Electronic Health Records
  • Familiarity with NYS Child Welfare protocols and organizational skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills

Estimated Salary: $37,000 - $40,000 per year
