This position is situated within the Lunar Permanence division. To advance Blue Origin's vision of enabling a significant human presence in space, we are constructing the essential infrastructure for transporting personnel and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. This pivotal role will demand your exceptional communication skills and collaborative spirit.

As a key member of a dedicated team comprising specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will serve as a Systems Integrator within the System Integration and Analysis Team, focusing on the integration of the Fluids and Propulsion subsystem for the lunar lander. Your responsibilities will include leading cross-functional trade studies, conducting integrated analyses, and defining critical interfaces that influence the design and integration of the spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a mediator among various and sometimes competing interests to optimize spacecraft performance.
  • Lead or contribute to architectural studies, concept development, Interface Control Document (ICD) creation, verification planning, vehicle integration, and operational support.
  • Oversee the development, definition, and maturity of requirements.
  • Create and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Develop comprehensive Concepts of Operations (ConOps).
  • Coordinate constraints and conflicting requirements across diverse disciplines.
  • Ensure the alignment of design modifications and their impacts across subsystems.
  • Identify program risks and propose effective mitigations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Extensive technical expertise in the Fluids and Propulsion subsystem.
  • Experience in analyzing and managing spacecraft technical budgets and margins, especially regarding propellant budgets.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems engineering methodologies, integration processes, and mission-critical systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commitment to resolving complex systems challenges.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Capability to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and foster an inclusive culture.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Typically, candidates possess 8+ years of relevant experience, particularly in fluid design, in-space propulsion, or cryogenic systems.
  • Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Electrical, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with integrated testing and verification/validation methodologies for fluids.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge across multiple subsystems.
  • Experience with human-rated spacecraft.
  • Familiarity with the complete spacecraft design lifecycle.
  • Experience utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools, including SysML.
  • Experience in requirements definition and management, preferably using Jama.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as SINDA/FLUINT, MATLAB/Simulink, Creo, Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and JIRA.
