Spherion Staffing Fargo is seeking an experienced Senior Market Director to lead our sales, delivery, and merchandising teams in the Devil's Lake, ND market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales volume, profitability, and margin goals for the market area.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day output from the market area, providing exceptional customer service and analyzing the customer base to identify potential sales opportunities.
- Work closely with Account Sales Reps to drive sales and margin in all market channels.
- Ensure that programs sold at key account level are executed in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with the delivery and merchandising crew to ensure flawless execution at account level and to ensure delivery at retail meets customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain effective communications to keep Account Sales Representatives informed of sales activity to ensure flawless execution at customer level.
- Develop a clear understanding of the company's marketing strategies and customers' goals, considering each when developing an approach to sell assigned customers.
- Prepare and present periodic business reviews to assigned customers.
- Work with other departments to ensure proper pricing is in the sales system for all assigned customers.
- Understand and embrace the company's merchandising standards for various products and categories, training direct reports to service products and equipment in accounts in line with these standards.
- Review daily workload and make adjustments as needed to cover for fluctuations in volume, sickness, etc.
- Solicit feedback from key people at account level on an ongoing basis regarding the performance of direct reports within the account, following through with employees to correct any issues.
- Proactively communicate to other departments business issues, development opportunities, and competitive activities, influencing the business along with an action plan to address them.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related fields preferred but not required.
- Minimum five years of sales and/or management experience in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment, preferably with a Direct Service Delivery (DSD) or General Product Company (GPC).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to motivate a team.
- Possesses a coaching and mentoring philosophy.
- Customer-focused with the ability to create win-win situations for the company and the customers.
