Job Summary

Rivier University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Switchboard Operator/Receptionist to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing the central switchboard, and performing various administrative tasks to support the Office of University Advancement and Alumni Relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Switchboard Operations: Answer incoming calls, connect callers to the appropriate office or personnel, and retrieve and process University voicemail messages.
  • Information Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on University offices, events, programs, and procedures to answer inquiries in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Reception Services: Serve as the receptionist for the Learning Commons, referring visitors to the appropriate offices and performing routine support tasks for the building.
  • Mail and Package Distribution: Pick up mail each day and distribute it to offices in the building.
  • Administrative Support: Perform various support tasks for the Office of University Advancement, including data entry, mailing preparation and fulfillment, and preparing event materials.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: Relevant switchboard/telephone and reception experience.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Administrative Experience: Basic administrative support experience is a plus.
