PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assist educators in managing students exhibiting challenging, hazardous, and disruptive behaviors within the classroom environment. Collaborate as part of the intensive support team to create effective intervention strategies aimed at enhancing student outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Educational Level:
Associate degree, two years of college, or a passing score on the GACE/PRAXIS Paraprofessional Assessment Test is required.
2.
Certification/License Required:
Registered Behavior Technician Certificate or a commitment to obtain and maintain RBT certification.
3.
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred with students exhibiting significant behavioral challenges and/or students with Autism/Emotional Behavioral Disorders.
4.
Physical Activities:
Regular physical activities necessary to fulfill job responsibilities; capability to lift a student weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance, and perform a two-person lift for students exceeding 60 pounds.
5.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficient written and verbal communication; understanding of applied behavior analysis techniques; assessment and management of severe behavioral issues; execution of behavior intervention plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.
Exhibit punctual and consistent attendance.
2.
Employ Applied Behavior Analysis to execute protocols with precision.
3.
Deliver direct instruction on behavioral strategies to students, incorporating positive reinforcement and differential reinforcement within the classroom.
4.
Gather and analyze data using both direct and indirect methods.
5.
Provide consultation and support to teachers regarding Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
6.
Evaluate and monitor the generalization of interventions across various settings and staff members.
7.
Pursue ongoing professional development in Applied Behavior Analysis, assessments, and management of severe behaviors.
8.
Create and disseminate objective session notes that include implicit descriptions of behaviors and strategies.
9.
Engage in meetings with families and educational staff as necessary.
10.
Assist in formulating crisis intervention plans as appropriate.
11.
Implement Applied Behavior Analysis as directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
12.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
