Shift Information

Position: Medication Technician / Certified Medication Aide

Schedule: Monday to Friday; rotating weekends

The Medication Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing the health and wellness of our residents. This position involves providing leadership support and assisting with resident care and services. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, medication administration, effective communication with resident support services and families, and maintaining clinical quality assurance while embodying and promoting the essential elements of wellness integral to Phoenix programs and services.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Medication Technician / Certified Medication Aide

Resident Care

  • Assess ongoing needs and services of residents through the Personalized Service Plan (PSP) process.
  • Ensure accurate follow-through and documentation for residents experiencing changes in clinical care needs.
  • Assist the Wellness Nurse in completing the clinical sections of monthly wellness visits and PSP to accurately reflect the resident's status.
  • Notify the Wellness Director and/or Executive Director of any changes in medication or service levels that may necessitate a higher tier level or potential relocation.
  • Support the collection of weights and vital signs monthly for each resident prior to the completion of wellness visits.
  • Provide assistance with resident care as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE-CERTIFICATION

Medication Technician / Certified Medication Aide

  • Must possess certification as a Medication Aide and/or fulfill state requirements for medication aides.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities are essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living sector and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing is preferred.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours to meet the needs of our residents during peak service delivery times.
