About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Intake Coordinator to join our team at Amerita. As a key member of our Intake team, you will play a critical role in the timely clearance of new referrals, ensuring seamless patient access to our infusion therapy services.

Responsibilities
  • Process referrals received from referral sources, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Verify patient demographic, insurance, and authorization information, and enter it into our computer system.
  • Obtain authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers, and document this in our system.
  • Communicate with other departments, including Sales and pharmacy staff, regarding referral status and authorization requirements.
  • Notify patients/caregivers regarding insurance coverage and payment responsibilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or some college preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market.
  • Experience working with all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance companies.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
