We offer not only competitive salaries but also a collaborative environment for innovators eager to make a meaningful impact. If you are passionate about building a more sustainable future, this is the ideal place for you.
Due to our significant expansion, we are on the lookout for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for our Plastics Division. Collaborate with some of the industry's leading experts and contribute to a community of innovators. Our Supplier Quality team plays a crucial role in the rapid industrialization of groundbreaking products. In this prominent position, the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and our suppliers to devise strategies that meet challenging design specifications without compromising manufacturing quality. You will guide the initial design development and engage directly with suppliers to innovate manufacturing methods and control strategies that fulfill ambitious quality standards and ensure successful product launches.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the complete supplier quality lifecycle for Plastics component suppliers (AAR, Appearance, Class-A surfaces).
  • Enhance and manage the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process with suppliers from design inception through to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and mass production commencement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assist Engineering in selecting qualified suppliers that align with Lucid's expectations and project timelines.
  • Coordinate all supplier industrialization efforts among the Design Release Engineer (DRE), Global Supply Management (GSM), and Craftsmanship, including the delivery of design documents, creation of build schedules, and progress monitoring.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) initiatives, design reviews, and initial tooling designs to ensure manufacturing considerations are integrated early in the design phase, with proper quality expectations established through early supplier engagement.
  • Work with suppliers on all technical design aspects and develop new manufacturing techniques as needed to meet design criteria, including implementing process controls and error-proofing to guarantee the quality of supplier components.
  • Drive and monitor all internal Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and change management activities.
  • Support system assembly builds, define incoming parts inspection procedures as necessary, track build issues, and prompt suppliers for immediate containment actions and long-term solutions.
  • Create quality plans, design testing methods and gauges, identify potential failure modes, and implement preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with Plant-level Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning, and Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) to ensure supplier quality issues are contained and Lucid plants are safeguarded.
  • Investigate supplier quality concerns to determine root causes, identify corrective actions, and drive long-term preventative measures.
  • Conduct supplier audits and site inspections; develop process improvement plans and oversee their implementation; track and maintain performance metrics.
  • Prepare concise reports for leadership on a regular basis, keeping them informed of any potential quality issues, including escalations.
  • Work independently and make decisions that are in the best interest of Lucid and its operations.
  • Willingness to travel 25-75% on average, both short-term and long-term, to Lucid Motors and supplier locations globally on short notice.
Your Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing and assembly environments, specifically with Plastics components (AAR, Appearance, Class-A surfaces) in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience in supplier industrialization, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), APQP, and PPAP processes; familiarity with Plastics processes and tooling development is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings, along with a comprehensive understanding of quality standards and specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills, technical writing proficiency, and a thorough understanding of quality tools (IATF 16949, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, GD&T, etc.).
  • Preferred certifications include those from the American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, a hands-on approach, and a data-driven mindset for problem-solving.
  • A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Smartsheets, JMP, Minitab, JIRA, and Tableau is a plus.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
