Role OverviewOur Craftsmanship team is in search of a Senior Engineer to oversee the fit and finish, color accuracy, and final quality assessments of both our new and existing vehicle models prior to production.
- Conduct benchmarking against competitor vehicles pertinent to ongoing projects.
- Establish performance targets, defining key interfaces for the vehicle and setting industry-leading standards for fit and finish.
- Develop critical sections for both interior and exterior interfaces, documenting objectives for production.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Dimensional, and manufacturing teams to ensure targets are feasible for mass production.
- Guarantee that perceived and optical quality standards are met through cross-functional evaluations.
- Utilize Cubing Reference Models, Master Fixtures, and other tools to achieve the highest craftsmanship standards in production.
- Propose alternative surface treatments, cutline adjustments, and interface designs to enhance craftsmanship outcomes.
- Assess and contribute to the enhancement of sensory attributes of our products.
- Work closely with suppliers and manage the introduction of new products.
We are looking for candidates with:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in craftsmanship.
- Proven attention to detail in both exterior and interior components and systems.
- Preferred experience in the automotive sector.
- A track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve results.
- Experience in ensuring that procedures and quality standards are communicated and implemented.
- The ability to support complex projects.
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
- Strong logical reasoning and proficiency in numeracy and literacy.
- Experience overseeing a full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive components.
- Expertise in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T.
- A genuine desire to produce the highest quality products as part of a capable team.
- A practical, hands-on approach that complements theoretical knowledge.
- Exceptional technical skills combined with excellent communication abilities.
A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
Compensation and BenefitsThe compensation range for this position is reflective of various factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and other relevant business considerations.
