Position Overview:
As a Senior Mass Strategy Engineer, you will serve as the primary mass control liaison within Vehicle Engineering, navigating various competing interests.

Your extensive knowledge across mechanical disciplines will be pivotal in optimizing mass across all Lucid vehicle product lines.

This role accommodates various experience levels, and your specific title (Engineer, Senior Engineer, Technical Specialist, etc.) will be determined by your expertise and technical skills. Our team comprises individuals with diverse experience levels, all collaborating to develop groundbreaking and innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct benchmarking analyses to assess competitive weight reduction strategies and propose recommendations to system and component leaders.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in establishing mass targets for systems and vehicles.
  • Analyze mass data to ensure compliance with system and vehicle specifications.
  • Effectively manage multiple competing requirements from various engineering teams while considering cost implications.
  • Oversee the physical verification of weight status.
  • Collaborate with engineers on mass reduction initiatives, utilizing CAD and CAE optimization techniques.
  • Advocate for best practices in the use of lightweight materials.
  • Support the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Change Control processes, including the approval of weight modifications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mass or vehicle integration.
  • Familiarity with current and upcoming vehicle architectures and system technologies, including the trade-offs between cost and weight.
  • Proficient in CAD software (CATIA preferred).
  • Proven ability to develop and design weight solutions, collaborating effectively with design engineers to propose weight reduction strategies.
  • Understanding of weight requirements for various regulatory assessments.
  • A strong passion for electric vehicles and energy efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with strong numerical and spatial awareness.

Education:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in engineering roles with an automotive OEM or supplier.
  • Working knowledge of multiple automotive systems is advantageous.

Base Pay Range: The annual compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
