Position Overview

Peraton is in search of a Mid-Level Test Engineer with an Active Secret Clearance. This role is entirely onsite, supporting our Department of Defense (DoD) clientele.

As a member of a highly skilled and motivated team, you will engage in a dynamic program that encompasses various technical and engineering phases of systems development, testing, integration, fielding, quality assurance (QA), certification, and maintenance. Additional responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting test and evaluation activities for both hardware and software across new systems, upgrades, and peripherals, including system of systems.
  • Providing essential engineering support to review and analyze system documentation, identifying and defining test requirements. This includes reviewing requirements and design specifications, test plans, procedures, results, logistics training documentation, and change proposals.
  • Assessing test coverage in relation to test types, validity, scenarios, conduct, results, and problem report content, aiming to minimize defects reported during integrated combat systems tests.
  • Planning, executing, and participating in test and evaluation activities, providing assessments of deficiencies identified during testing, and recommending automated testing solutions.
  • Conducting or witnessing tactical system tests and evaluations, certifications, and training events at various venues.
  • Collaborating with the Government Test Lead to maintain a comprehensive test activity schedule, including all test events and related tasks.
  • Participating in system requirements sessions to ensure clarity and adequacy of testing for new system enhancements.
  • Engaging with senior government leadership and cross-organizational personnel.
  • Performing any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or three (3) years of relevant experience in Combat System Testing within a Navy land-based test laboratory or field environment. Experience may vary based on educational background.
  • An Active Secret Clearance.
  • Knowledge and experience in testing Navy surface combat systems (preferred).
  • Prior experience with the MK41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) (preferred).
  • Proficiency in data analysis.
  • The ability to comprehend and develop test requirements and execute associated procedures.
  • A proactive approach and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The capability to work independently and collaboratively within teams across multiple organizations to achieve established goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience working with the DoD customer and/or in Combat System Testing is advantageous.

Salary Range:

The typical salary range for this position is $66,000 - $106,000, based on experience and other relevant factors.
