The role of a Construction Project Coordinator involves overseeing daily operations of subcontractors and suppliers, handling contract management, procurement, estimating, payment requests, change orders, and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will possess internship experience in construction management, with exposure to a range of project types including, but not limited to, Higher Education, Retail, Multi-family, Hospitality, Healthcare, and more. We value individuals who demonstrate strong technical abilities, excellent communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities of a Construction Project Coordinator:

  • Manage general contracts and subcontractor agreements
  • Ensure jobsite safety and implement accident prevention measures
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules
  • Oversee procurement and timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Process Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Coordinate shop drawing and submittal reviews
  • Conduct project cost analysis and reporting
  • Review subcontractor payment applications
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and document outcomes
  • Supervise and coordinate field installations by subcontractors
  • Negotiate change proposal pricing with subcontractors
  • Prepare and document change proposals and orders
  • Research and recommend construction methods and equipment
  • Ensure quality control throughout the project
  • Facilitate project closeout procedures
  • Implement safety programs and EEO/Affirmative Action initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Internship experience in construction management
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
  • Proficient in modern technology and strong communication skills
  • General understanding of construction principles and practices
  • Strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of project management software (Microsoft Office and SAGE 300 CRE)
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with public works projects
  • Estimating experience
  • Experience in self-performed work
  • Completion of OSHA 30 Hour Training
  • Experience with LEED projects
