Job Overview

The ideal candidate will actively pursue and secure bids for the organization. Proficiency in the estimating software Xactimate is essential. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to earn bonuses based on the profitability of the projects they secure. This role operates on a 1099 basis, allowing for flexibility and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and reliability.
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of accounting principles and project management.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in preparing comprehensive quantity take-offs.
  • Compile precise and well-structured estimates and proposals promptly.
    • This may involve site visits to gather necessary information.
  • Coordinate subcontractor bids, negotiating to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Manage claims related to wind, fire, water, and hail damage.
  • Have a minimum of three years' experience using Xactimate.

Additional Duties

  • Oversee budgeting and scheduling for various projects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.
  • Ensure that site personnel receive appropriate project documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a database for material and labor cost estimates.
  • Engage with potential clients to discuss service options.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Assist in project management as needed based on workload.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites for bid preparation.

Qualifications

  • Experience estimating projects valued at $1 million or more.
  • Proficient in Xactimate estimating software.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Access to a reliable computer and mobile phone.
