Position Overview:

The University of Minnesota Physicians is actively seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist to join our esteemed Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. This role is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional, patient-focused care and advancing our hepatology and transplant hepatology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an inpatient attending physician on the liver service.
  • Conduct outpatient consultations at our state-of-the-art facilities.
  • Engage in outreach activities and provide expert consultations.
  • Develop and lead a clinical research program in hepatology.
  • Contribute to the academic missions of the Department of Medicine.
  • Participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Access opportunities for professional development through conferences and collaboration with leading specialists.

About Our Division:

The Gastroenterology Division is recognized for its robust clinical and research programs, including areas such as inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal disorders, and advanced endoscopy techniques. Our transplant hepatology section is known for its longstanding liver transplant program, and we are committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship.
  • Board certification in internal medicine and eligibility in Gastroenterology.
  • Advanced training and clinical experience in hepatology or transplant hepatology is preferred.
  • Proven track record in patient care and medical education.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Minnesota and compliance with credentialing requirements.
  • Ability to secure work authorization in the United States.
