As the Product Owner for Real-Time Applications at MISO, you will be at the forefront of driving innovative solutions to enhance our monitoring and alerting systems utilized by our operators. Your role will involve fostering a collaborative atmosphere where developers and business stakeholders can effectively partner to create valuable products. You will be instrumental in evaluating product opportunities and potential risks, identifying root causes of challenges, and proposing impactful solutions. Additionally, you will establish quarterly plans for the teams and manage backlogs to ensure efficient execution of priorities.

In your first year as our Product Owner, success will be measured by:

  • Establishing strong collaborative relationships with product managers and business leaders to prioritize the backlog for the software development team.
  • Ensuring alignment of business value and requirements with subject matter experts, leading to effective Agile ceremonies and reduced rework for developers.
  • Facilitating the software development team's ability to accurately estimate and consistently deliver on business requests.
  • Demonstrating a clear understanding of how your software applications add value to MISO and contributing to the overall vision and roadmap.

We seek dedicated professionals who:

  • Are actively engaged in the development pipeline maturation process.
  • Have cultivated an environment of trust and efficiency between developers and business partners.
  • Are well-versed in Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, or XP.
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Preferably have experience with data visualization and alerting software applications.
  • Have familiarity with the energy sector or other compliance-driven industries.

The appropriate level for this position will be determined based on your experience and expertise.
