Domestic Violence Coordinator Role

The Domestic Violence Coordinator is a vital position at LA Family Housing, responsible for coordinating the intersection of Coordinated Entry System (CES) services and Domestic Violence (DV) services in SPA 2. This role requires technical assistance to both systems, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective support for households experiencing DV and homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Train Program teams working with actively fleeing families in daily bed assessment, transportation to new SPA, and access to DV bed availability information.
• Attend and facilitate regular meetings with DV providers in SPA 2, CES in SPA 2, and system-focused meetings on DV and CES intersection.
• Provide guidance to staff in creating safety plans for actively fleeing households and train CES staff in safety plans for current CES-engaged households.
• Offer ongoing safety planning training to CES staff and provide staff with ongoing trauma-informed practice consultation around DV.
• Provide ongoing CES training to DV providers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in social services with three (3) years of experience in social services. Master's degree preferred, but not required. Degree can be substituted with five (5) years' experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the intricate challenges of Domestic Violence, knowledge of the Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Violence system in LA County, and knowledge of Homeless Services in LA County.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and ability to employ sensitivity in building rapport with clientele.
• Creative problem-solving skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, and maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPPA standards.
