Case Manager I

**Job Summary**
The Case Manager serves as a team member with several social service professionals and paraprofessionals ensuring the delivery of quality services and adhering to the mission of St. Joseph Center. The Case Manager will provide case management to homeless families experiencing domestic violence, including service linkage and housing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate families for permanent housing in conjunction with the Program Manager and case management staff.
- Be responsible for a caseload of up to 25 families.
- Establish a case management and safety plan for each family.
- Work closely with the DV coordinator to provide referrals to needed services, including health, mental health, education, employment, and vocational training.
- Serve as an advocate or liaison to other organizations when needed.
- Assist families with the identification of appropriate housing and with lease up, including negotiation of rental agreements with landlords.
- Act as an advocate with landlords as needed.
- Provide ongoing case management to families following placement.
Qualifications:
- Must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
- The ability to communicate with and relate to a diverse group of people, including clients, community, and other staff.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of case management principles and intervention techniques specific to homeless populations or other under-served groups.
- Knowledge of housing market/housing programs is desirable.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including some early mornings and evenings.
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English is desirable.
Requirements:
- One to two years' experience providing case management services/advocacy with homeless and low-income families and/or families experiencing domestic violence.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field.
- A combination of education and experience may be substituted.
