Social Worker Program Coordinator

The Social Worker Program Coordinator is a critical role within the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) program. This program aims to facilitate the implementation of violence prevention strategies at a local level through education, monitoring, and coordination of all PMDB activities.
Key Responsibilities- Plans, develops, implements, and oversees all components of the PMDB program, ensuring compliance with Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards.
- Administers information and utilizes analytic systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of program services to all VAGLAHCS employees.
- Develops and implements information systems to track completion of all PMDB activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Collaborates with Mental Health and facility leadership to ensure facility policies are compliant with CARF standards.
- Prepares reviews and submits national reports regarding assignment and completion of PMDB training.
- Coordinates with TMS coordinator in assignment of appropriate levels of PMDB training to all employees based on the facility's annual Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment (WBRA).
- Tracks training assignments and completions for all facility staff, submits training plans, assignments, and completions to VHA Central Office (VACO) PMDB program per VACO PMDB Program instructions.
- Ensures PMDB Facility Trainers are appropriately certified and coordinates assignment of PMDB Facility Trainers to all required classes.
- Citizen of the United States.
- Full, unrestricted license or certification by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
- Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, demonstrating possession of advanced practice skills and judgment.
- Licensure/Certification: Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
The Social Worker Program Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong organizational and communication skills. The position may involve travel to various sites within the VHA GLA HCS to support full implementation of PMDB. The incumbent will be or become a Trainer, and ultimately, a Master Trainer to ensure extensive knowledge of the PMDB training program.
