Position Overview:

  • The primary duty of the Senior Legal Counsel is to evaluate complex cases, secure appropriate expert witnesses, and advocate for claims under both homeowner and commercial insurance policies.
  • Assessment of new case assignments related to intricate liability and damages claims.
  • Defending significant case depositions and providing timely summaries.
  • Conducting thorough legal research, drafting motions, and representing in court.
  • Preparing for trials, participating in jury trials, and managing post-trial motions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-depth review and evaluation of complex claims.
  • Defending major case depositions and efficiently summarizing them.
  • Engaging in legal research and motion activities, including preparation and court appearances.
  • Trial preparation, participation, and handling of post-trial motions.

Qualifications:

  • A law degree and Bar admission in the relevant state(s) are required.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 20 years of experience in insurance defense is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a lead attorney in cases involving serious injuries is preferred.
  • Experience with a substantial number of insurance defense personal injury jury trials is preferred.
  • Experience handling high-profile or celebrity cases is a plus.
  • Consistent record of outstanding performance evaluations.
