Position Overview

Aspire Bakeries, a leading North American baking enterprise specializing in premium frozen baked goods, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Legal Counsel. This role is pivotal in providing essential legal support and strategic insight to the General Counsel at our corporate headquarters. The Senior Legal Counsel will oversee a diverse range of legal matters across our operations in the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive legal advice and cross-departmental support, focusing on real estate, commercial agreements, marketing, and privacy law to align with the Company's strategic goals.
  • Manage Aspire Bakeries' real estate portfolio, ensuring timely tracking of critical deadlines and negotiation of intricate commercial leases.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including manufacturing, sales, procurement, and IT service agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel to the marketing team, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain expertise in privacy law and ensure adherence to applicable privacy standards.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex issues as directed by the General Counsel.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing policies and procedures to uphold legal and regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
  • Oversee and manage external legal counsel and vendors as necessary.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions activities as required.
  • Promote a culture of integrity and legal compliance within the organization.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and best practices in compliance control.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel to enhance the Legal Department's effectiveness and visibility both internally and externally.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Active member of the California State Bar.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, with strong presentation skills.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $220,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Aspire Bakeries offers a competitive compensation package along with a comprehensive benefits program.
