Position Overview:
- The primary role of the Senior Legal Counsel is to evaluate complex cases, secure appropriate expert witnesses, and advocate for claims under homeowner and commercial insurance policies.
- Assessment of new case assignments related to intricate liability and damages claims.
- Defending significant case depositions and providing timely summaries.
- Conducting legal research, drafting motions, and representing in court.
- Preparing for trials, participating in jury trials, and managing post-trial motions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thorough review and evaluation of complex claims.
- Defending critical case depositions and efficiently summarizing them.
- Engaging in legal research and motion activities, including court appearances.
- Trial preparation, participation, and management of post-trial motions.
Qualifications:
- A law degree and Bar admission in relevant jurisdictions are required.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 20 years of experience in insurance defense is preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience as a lead attorney in cases involving serious injuries is desirable.
- Experience with a substantial number of insurance defense personal injury jury trials is advantageous.
- Experience in managing celebrity and/or high-profile cases is a plus.
- Consistent record of outstanding performance evaluations.
