Position Overview


Provides comprehensive patient care in a setting where individuals receive treatment and typically return home on the same day or in a transitional care environment.


Minimum one (1) year of Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing experience is essential.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with no weekend, holiday, or on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibits advanced knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring intricate assessments and therapies, high-intensity interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance.
  • Utilizes data and assessments to anticipate and respond confidently to rapidly changing patient conditions.

Essential Duties

  • Identifies and prioritizes critical information to take immediate, evidence-based, patient-centered actions.
  • Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment utilized on patients, interpreting and documenting electronic displays such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms.
  • Responds to life-threatening situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
  • Observes, monitors, and evaluates patients' conditions, recognizing and interpreting serious situations, and contacting a physician or implementing pre-established emergency measures when necessary.
  • Assesses patient needs and develops or revises individualized care plans based on patient responses, evaluating progress toward expected outcomes.
  • Respects diversity by fostering respectful relationships with all team members and patients.
  • Acts as a patient and family advocate.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients in the assigned unit or department.

Qualifications

Education and Training
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the specific unit or department.

Licensure and Certification
  • Maintains a current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
  • Holds current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • ACLS and TNCC certifications are required for specific areas.

Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of PACU nursing experience is required.
