Santa Clara, California, United States Palo Alto Networks Full time
Company Overview

Our Vision

At Palo Alto Networks, our journey begins and ends with our core mission:

To be the trusted cybersecurity partner, safeguarding our digital existence.

We envision a future where each day is safer and more secure than the last. Our foundation is built on challenging norms and innovating in the cybersecurity landscape, and we seek pioneers who are equally dedicated to shaping the future of this industry.

Work Philosophy

We prioritize flexibility and choice in all our employee programs. We have redefined the conventional perspective that all employees share identical needs and preferences. We provide personalized options, allowing our team members to select what suits them best—from wellness support to professional growth and beyond.

At Palo Alto Networks, we value collaboration and the importance of in-person interactions. Thus, our employees typically work from the office three days a week, reserving two days for flexible work arrangements. This model encourages spontaneous discussions, effective problem-solving, and the development of trusted relationships. While specifics may adapt, our aim is to cultivate an environment where innovation flourishes, with teams gathering in the office to collaborate and succeed together.

Position Overview

Your Role

In an era where remote work is prevalent, and organizational boundaries are increasingly fluid, a novel strategy is essential to ensure connectivity, compliance, and security for all.

Prisma Access (formerly GlobalProtect Cloud Service) delivers security directly from the cloud, ensuring safe access to cloud resources. It merges the necessary connectivity and security, providing it wherever required. By leveraging advanced public and private cloud technologies, it extends next-generation security measures to all cloud services, on-premise remote networks, and mobile users.

As a Lead UI Architect, you will design and develop user-friendly interfaces and sophisticated data visualization solutions for our offerings. You will need to adopt a comprehensive perspective on all system components and evaluate the trade-offs inherent in every design choice.

You will engage with cutting-edge technologies and development practices to achieve optimal results.

This is a distinctive opportunity to join at an early stage and take the lead in architecting new products from the ground up.

Your Contributions

  • Assess requirements, design, develop, and maintain highly intuitive and scalable UI features and infrastructure for our next-generation security platform from start to finish.
  • Produce clean, testable, readable, scalable, and maintainable code that performs efficiently for a vast customer base.
  • Actively oversee the testing of critical components within the product, considering complex factors across multiple platforms, performance, supportability, maintainability, and more.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Development, Quality Assurance, SRE, and Customer Support teams to deliver the roadmap and enhance customer outcomes.
  • Foster a results-driven culture with a strong emphasis on execution, quality, and speed.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to the team, innovating around tools and process development.
  • Create design documents, software development guidelines, and best practices.
  • Advocate for architectural changes based on emerging technologies, business context, and future plans.
  • Effectively communicate goals and desired outcomes to internal project teams, simplifying complex UI concepts for others.
Qualifications

Your Background

  • Over 10 years of experience in developing complex, high-scale, and intuitive User Interface and Data Visualization solutions, with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably React.
  • A passion for software engineering and coding, with a dynamic and eager approach to creation and excellence.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in computer science and a solid understanding of DevOps and Continuous Delivery principles.
  • Hands-on experience with UX/UI design tools such as Figma and Storybook.
  • Familiarity with microservices-based deployments, including the ability to implement monitoring and tracing of application logs from inception.
  • Experience managing DevOps, SRE, availability, and reliability outcomes for a large-scale cloud product.
  • A B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent military experience is required.
Team Dynamics

The Engineering Team

Our engineering team is central to our products and directly linked to our mission of preventing cyber threats. We are in a constant state of innovation—challenging conventional thinking in cybersecurity. Our engineers are unafraid to create solutions for problems that have yet to be addressed.

We aim to define the industry rather than follow established paths. We seek individuals who thrive in uncertainty, are excited by challenges, and feel empowered by the risks that a secure digital environment can mitigate.

You will join a growing, passionate, and dynamic team, working on stimulating and impactful projects—centered around what we believe is one of the most significant missions globally. We also strive to be the most people-centric organization, continuously enhancing your experience as part of a team that is redefining workplace boundaries.

Our Commitment

We are trailblazers who dream big, take risks, and challenge the status quo in cybersecurity. Our mission cannot be achieved without diverse teams innovating together.

We are dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with disabilities. Palo Alto Networks is an equal opportunity employer, celebrating diversity in our workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to various legally protected characteristics.

All information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
