POSITION TITLE: Grounds Maintenance Team Member

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time and Part-Time, Non-exempt, Hourly

As a member of our Grounds Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the well-being of our property. This includes managing solid waste, recycling, distributing firewood, and maintaining firepits, while also supporting specific event setups as required. The role offers opportunities to engage in additional maintenance tasks based on your skills and availability. Flexibility is essential, as shifts may include evenings and weekends, given our status as a hospitality venue. A significant portion of your work will take place outdoors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist guests as necessary.
  • Collect and dispose of solid waste and recycling throughout the property multiple times daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all waste receptacles on a daily basis.
  • Manage the receipt and distribution of firewood for firepits, stoves, and fireplaces.
  • Conduct daily cleaning of firepits across the property.
  • Assist in the transportation of firepits and other large items as needed.
  • Ensure all grounds areas are tidy and well-maintained.
  • Provide general information about the resort to guests.
  • Engage professionally with resort staff, maintaining a courteous demeanor.
  • Report significant repairs needed on the property to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience operating forklifts – certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in custodial work or outdoor maintenance is highly desirable, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and experience operating larger vehicles.
  • Familiarity with forklift maintenance, cardboard bailers, compactors, and carts (both electric and gas).
  • Basic landscaping experience in a professional environment.
  • Ability to assess spaces critically and address any imperfections.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and irrigation systems is a plus.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
