**Job Summary**

We're seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you'll work closely with our Executive Chef to craft innovative and delicious food, lead team members, and provide exceptional service to our guests.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead all aspects of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality food production.
  • Inventively solve issues and seize control of problematic situations, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor under pressure.
  • Lead and train kitchen staff, establishing a working schedule that promotes efficiency and productivity.
  • Interview and hire employees, plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Identify developable personnel and provide necessary training as positions open, fostering a culture of growth and development.
  • Order, stock, and inspect the quality of all food items necessary for daily service, maintaining a high level of inventory management.
  • Maintain budgeted labor costs and assist in controlling overtime, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure that food is produced on a timely basis, with a goal of executing all tickets in 20 minutes or less, promoting a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
  • Participate in service education through daily line-ups, quarterly menu meetings, and new staff training programs, ensuring that all team members are well-educated regarding menu items.
  • Assist the restaurant in meeting financial targets while achieving food quality and service objectives, driving business success.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities, supervising the daily cleaning of the pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, and walk-in.

**Requirements**

  • 1+ years of previous culinary experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Science or related certificate is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays when needed.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and industry standard practices and trends.
  • Excellent knife skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Leadership skills, with a desire to build a healthy and collaborative team.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to foster positive working relationships with diverse personalities.
