The Peninsula Jewish Community Center has been a cornerstone of community engagement for over 75 years, serving a diverse population in San Mateo County. The center's mission focuses on creating a sense of belonging and connection through various programs and services that reflect Jewish values.
PJ Library Bay Area:
The PJ Library program is dedicated to connecting Jewish families with young children by providing free Jewish literature and resources. This initiative encourages families to explore their Jewish heritage and engage in meaningful conversations about values and traditions.
Key Responsibilities:
This part-time position entails approximately 10 hours of work per week, focusing on the following areas:
- Initiate personal conversations with families to build relationships and share resources.
- Organize a monthly gathering for Jewish families, ensuring accessibility for parents.
- Represent the organization at community events to promote engagement and resource sharing.
- Utilize external communication channels to share events and resources relevant to the Jewish community.
- Engage with local Jewish preschools and early childhood education programs to foster family connections.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Jewish Experience Officer.
Qualifications:

- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with parents of young children.
- A background in family engagement or education.

- Proficiency in written communication and content creation.
- Comfort with social media engagement.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Demands:
This role may involve standing for extended periods, utilizing office equipment, and occasional lifting of light items. The work environment may be dynamic and involve close interaction with others.
