About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Family Engagement Coordinator. This role will be responsible for developing relationships with under-connected families with Jewish children ages 0-6, and facilitating connections among families with appropriate Jewish organizations, relevant resources, and each other.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate individual conversations with PJ Library parents focused on relationship building and resource sharing
  • Create one Weekend Gathering each month, at a time convenient for parents, for Jewish families from the North Peninsula
  • Represent PJ Library at one community event each month, focused on recruitment and engagement for book subscriptions as well as procuring newsletter signups, joining local Jewish Parents WhatsApp groups, and other modalities of connection
  • External Communication (social media and e-newsletter) to curate and share events and resources from the North Peninsula Jewish community with parents
  • Onsite Jewish Parent/Family Engagement at several North Peninsula Jewish preschools and ECE programs throughout the year
Requirements
  • Ability to connect with parents and relate to parents with young children
  • Background in family engagement or education is beneficial
  • Understanding of and experience with Jewish community work is preferred
  • Understanding and appreciation of diversity within the Jewish community is preferred
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and organized with strong follow-through skills
  • Proficient in persuasive English writing and content creation
  • Skilled and comfortable with regular social media engagement and presence

The Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) is a vibrant and inclusive community that serves the Jewish and broader community in San Mateo County. PJ Library Bay Area is a program of the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, working to foster connections to Jewish families with young children in the Bay Area. We deliver free Jewish children's books to families raising kids from birth to age 8 with Judaism as part of their lives, creating opportunities for families to explore and celebrate Jewish heritage while fostering vital conversations about values and traditions.
