Position Summary:
The Lead Coordinator for Adoption and Foster Programs at Animal Welfare League of Arlington plays a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of the Adoption and Foster teams. This full-time role necessitates availability during weekends, holidays, and evenings. The successful candidate will excel in a dynamic environment and possess a passion for working with both animals and people. The compensation for this position is $23.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising operational workflows for the Adoption and Foster teams
  • Providing training and mentorship to team members and volunteers
  • Facilitating the processes of adoption and foster placements
  • Developing departmental schedules
  • Establishing standard operating procedures for adoption and fostering
  • Collaborating with various departments to enhance adoption and fostering initiatives
  • And additional related tasks
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an animal shelter or animal care environment
  • Understanding of animal care practices, veterinary medicine, and animal behavior
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Physical and Mental Requirements:
This role requires manual dexterity, exposure to various animal species, and the ability to lift heavy objects. Candidates must possess normal hearing and vision capabilities and be comfortable in the presence of diverse animals.
