McColm & Company is a dedicated consulting firm focused on empowering change agents with essential knowledge and skills to navigate a complex global landscape. We specialize in delivering tailored professional training programs and providing expert advisory services to U.S. federal clients.
In collaboration with the Area Studies Division, we aim to enhance the understanding of Mexico's socio-political landscape among foreign affairs professionals. We are currently seeking a qualified instructor to take on the role of Mexico Course Coordinator.
Course Objective
The course is designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge of Mexico, enabling them to effectively engage in their roles related to the country. It covers historical, cultural, and contemporary issues that shape Mexico's political and economic environment, particularly in relation to the United States.
Course Structure
This program spans five consecutive days for Subregional courses and five non-consecutive days for Area Studies in language courses, with multiple sessions scheduled throughout the year. The selected instructor may also have opportunities to conduct additional courses in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the organization and delivery of the course, both virtually and in-person.
- Ensure adherence to instructional design principles and respond to guidance from leadership.
- Utilize provided templates and branding for consistent course materials.
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions, adapting to unforeseen circumstances as needed.
- Identify and invite qualified guest speakers for enhanced learning experiences.
- Maintain up-to-date course materials and ensure effective online classroom setup.
- Conduct evaluations and encourage participant feedback.
Qualifications
- Master's degree required; PhD preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in the region, supported by published works or teaching experience.
- Experience in instructional design and engaging adult learners.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with online learning platforms.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of the local language is a plus.
