Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at Central Piedmont Community College. As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our department, ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the department, including filing, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries.
  • Maintain computer databases, update records, and purge inactive files as needed.
  • Monitor inventory and supplies, and order materials as required.
  • Answer phone calls, provide information, and refer calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Research inquiries, contact appropriate personnel, and provide answers to questions.
  • Select and mail form letters, brochures, and other prepared correspondence.
  • Typing and proofreading memos, correspondence, and other printed materials.
  • Gather and summarize information, and produce reports as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Beginner level Microsoft Office skills, including general knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets.
  • One year of office experience.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working Monday to Saturday. The typical office environment requires frequent sitting, using a computer display, keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Frequent interactions with students, faculty, staff, and/or the public are expected. Infrequent lifting and carrying of items up to 10 lbs. may be required.
