Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer to join our team. As a key member of our plumbing engineering group, you'll be responsible for managing complex projects, evaluating and applying engineering techniques, and collaborating with clients and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the plumbing portions of complex projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Evaluate and apply standard and advanced engineering techniques to make informed decisions on plumbing engineering issues.
  • Take ownership of all aspects of the work, including drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Meet with clients and contractors to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
  • Program, conceptualize, and design complex systems and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and complete working drawings, specifications, and project records.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying and addressing any potential issues.
  • Review and summarize applicable codes and regulations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in plumbing system design, including code review and interpretation.
  • Professional Engineer's license or Certified Plumbing Design (CPD) Certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable building and NFPA codes pertaining to plumbing systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Trane TRACE or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare, science, and technology, or civic facilities.
  • Interest in sustainable design and LEED certification.
  • Revit MEP experience.
  • Commercial or institutional experience in healthcare.
  • Medical Gas Certification (ASSE 6060 or similar).
